So now you know - GTO means "Gran Turismo Omologato". The name was given to the real first American "Muscle" car, the Pontiac GTO.

Actually GTO was first given to the ferrari 250 GTO which was released in 1962 while the pontiac GTO was released in 1964.

Also the GTO wasn't the first American muscle car, it was the 1949 olds rocket 88.

Yes, I already knew Ferrari had a GTO before the Pontiac GTO was out.

That Oldsmobile is a nice looking car, I have heard stories from older men saying they could spin the rear wheels at 55 mph, they were that good.
